Purpose of Qualification

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to:
• Lead teams to conduct applied ethnographic research and immerse self in the environment and context to augment engagement and empathy with stakeholders and to conduct problem analysis.
• Be a conduit for and lead teams to understand problems and achieve the creation of innovative solutions using design thinking methodologies.
• Apply the design thinking process and methodology to stimulate creativity and innovation for the design and creation of innovative solutions to solve a problem.

Articulation

Horizontal:

• Occupational Certificate: Community Development Worker, NQF Level 4.
• Further Education and Training Certificate: Graphic Web Design and Multimedia, NQF Level 4.
• Further Education and Training Certificate: New Venture Creation, NQF Level 4.

Vertical

• Higher Certificate in Mobile Application and Web Development, NQF Level 5.
• National Certificate: N6: Art and Design, NQF Level 5.

Assessment of Programme

The Institution will conduct internal assessments by means of assessment activities and signed off work experience log sheets. Upon successful completion of all modules, The Institution provides a statement of results to the candidate and QCTO, as part of the candidate’s application to complete the external Summative Assessment conducted by the QCTO.
