Purpose of Qualification

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners to prepare Cybersecurity Analysts to apply the practice of protecting assets such as networks, computer systems and information assets from malicious attacks and threats. They assess and mitigate risks and potential intrusions and identify risks and vulnerabilities. They study existing techniques for managing security issues and maintaining the security of information and systems in the working environment ensuring legal compliance

Admission Requirements

The learner must have completed an NQF level 4 Qualification

Articulation

Horizontal:

• Higher Certificate in Computer Forensics, NQF Level 05.

Vertical

• Advanced Certificate in Information Security, NQF Level 06.

Assessment of Programme

The Institution will conduct internal assessments by means of assessment activities and signed off work experience log sheets. Upon successful completion of all modules, The Institution provides a statement of results to the candidate and QCTO, as part of the candidate’s application to complete the external Summative Assessment conducted by the QCTO.
